Every space has a story, and White Room Knox is no exception. What makes this studio so special isn’t just the light or the design—it’s the intention behind keeping it exactly what photographers in Knoxville already know and love.
Hi. I’m Amanda. A local wedding photographer that has been in business since 2010 and been in Knoxville since 2015.

When the opportunity came to step into ownership of White Room Knox, it wasn’t something I took lightly. As the owner of Amanda May Photos, I’ve spent years photographing mostly weddings, but also families, engagements, newborn, and milestones all over. And like so many photographers in this community, I’ve personally rented this studio for my own sessions.
And truthfully—I fell in love with it.
There’s something about the way the light fills this space. It’s even, clean, and incredibly consistent. It creates that bright, minimal, timeless look that so many of us are drawn to—and that our clients love. Letting a space like this go didn’t feel like an option.
From the very beginning, my goal has been simple: keep the heart of The White Room exactly as it is.
The furniture that was thoughtfully curated before? It’s staying.
The clean, all-white aesthetic? Staying.
The calm, airy feeling you get when you walk in? Absolutely staying.
This isn’t about reinventing the space. It’s about preserving what already works so beautifully while continuing to create an environment that feels welcoming and easy for photographers to step into.
Because when a space is already working for you—when it allows you to create effortlessly—you don’t need to change it. You just need to protect it.
One of the biggest reasons this studio matters so much to me is because I use it too.
I understand what it feels like to walk into a space with clients and want everything to flow smoothly. I know how important it is to have:
White Room Knox was already doing all of that—and my goal is to continue supporting photographers by keeping it that way.
More than anything, I want this studio to feel like it belongs to the creative community here in Knoxville.
That’s why your experience—and your input—matters.
If there’s ever something you’d love to see added or improved, I truly want to hear it. This space is meant to serve you, and your feedback plays a huge role in how it grows moving forward.
White Room Knox has already been such a meaningful space for so many photographers, and it’s an honor to continue that legacy.
I’m incredibly excited for what’s ahead—not just for the studio, but for the creativity, connection, and stories that will continue to unfold inside these walls.
Thank you for being part of this space and this community. I truly can’t wait to see what you create here 🤍
All the love,
Amanda May
