Give yourself a little extra time for hair, makeup, steaming your clothes, and any last-minute touch-ups. Those small details make a difference when the focus of the photo is YOU.
Get a few different crops.
Ask your photographer for a mix of close-up headshots, waist-up images, and a few wider portraits. This gives you so much more flexibility when updating your website and social media.
