Every year, there is one set of sessions that means more to me than anything else I offer—and that is my annual Hope Resource Center mini session fundraiser at The White Room Knox. What started in 2020, during a time when so many nonprofits were forced to cancel their fundraising efforts due to COVID, has grown into something that is deeply rooted in both my business and my heart.
Hope Resource Center is an incredible organization right here in Knoxville that exists to support men and women navigating unexpected pregnancies. Their mission is centered on meeting people where they are and providing real, tangible support without judgment. What makes Hope so special is the way they care for the whole person—not just the immediate need.
They provide completely free healthcare services throughout pregnancy, meaning parents don’t have to worry about the financial burden that often comes with prenatal care. Beyond that, they offer one-on-one mentorship, walking alongside both moms and dads as they prepare emotionally, mentally, and physically for parenthood. They host baby showers for mamas who may not otherwise experience one, gifting them with essentials like car seats, strollers, diaper bags, and more—items that can truly change the trajectory of those early days.
One of my favorite parts of what Hope offers is their parenting education program, where parents can attend classes and earn “Hope Cash” to shop in their baby boutique for diapers, clothing, and formula. And something that sets them apart even more? They are entirely funded through donations and fundraisers, without relying on government grants—allowing them to serve families freely and fully.
Since 2020, this fundraiser has raised over $50,000 for Hope Resource Center, which is something I am incredibly proud of. But beyond the financial impact, there is another layer that means just as much to me. Each year, we also donate sessions directly to Hope mamas—giving them the opportunity to step in front of the camera and feel seen, loved, and beautiful during a season that can often feel overwhelming. For many, it’s their first (and sometimes only) experience having professional photos taken, whether during pregnancy or with their newborn.
These sessions also provide Hope with meaningful imagery they can use across their website, brochures, and social media—helping them continue to reach and serve more families in our community.
Over the years, this fundraiser has evolved. What began as outdoor spring sessions has transitioned into cozy winter sessions hosted indoors at The White Room. That shift has not only removed the stress of unpredictable weather but has also allowed me to pour more time and energy into each gallery during a slower season in my business.
These are the only mini sessions I offer each year—and I truly don’t see that changing anytime soon. This fundraiser is more than just a day of photos. It’s a way to give back, to love on families in a meaningful way, and to be a small part of something that is making a big difference right here in our community.
